Mouth wide open!!!

That was my reaction when I got the news that the music release of my movie Hum Phirr Milein Na Milein was being inaugurated by the CM- the chief minister of Maharasthra at his residence.

I was elated. Chronologically my day passed this way. The first half of the evening went in selecting the best bouquet of flowers and sweets to give him looking at his stature. Followed by something which is a day to day ordeal for a girl….choose the right clothes to wear. Keeping all the designer clothes aside I picked a simple linen pink shirt and found it apt.[ ab CM ke ghar jaana hai to decent banke jaana chahiya na].

As I drove down to his house I kept a constant eye on the watch so as to not be late. All this while I kept getting adrenaline rushes. I reached there with the cast and crew of my movie.

Mrs. Deshmukh [CM's wife] arrived and made us feel at home. We chatted, shared moments from our film, discussed the filmy trends and cracked loads of jokes. She played a perfect host. Also I was overwhelmed by Tabbasumji’s collection of jokes and sheroshaayari which can lighten up any gathering. Generally I feel shy to sing at unknown gatherings but somehow here the environment was so comfy that I sang songs of my film to entertain the cast and crew... so much bhaav for a bathroom singer.

Finally the moment arrived and Shri Vilasrao Deshmukh entered and it may sound filmy but the whole room got filled with a strong aura. We were introduced and what followed was just what happens at any other music launch….cutting the cake [and eating it too], clicking photos, unwrapping the music CD's, etc. once the formal stuff was over, I was delighted to see Vilasraoji in a masti mood. To my surprise, he was quite chilled out, had a great sense of humor and turned out to be some one I could call a cool dude. He had his own jokes to share, his verdict on the film industry and stories of his experiences with other actors. I always thought it was our (actors) job to keep the gathering lively but here is a host running a state with all sincerity and yet having so much energy and humor to brighten up other events. A great person indeed.

Generally I am not fond of high profile people as I haven’t found many as chilled out and down to earth as him. Hence this was a day to remember and pen down.

The best part is that mine wasn't any other ordinary music launch. Not at every music release party does the star cast get to spend quality time with the CM. Well I can't remember the last time when something in my life didn't happen out of the ordinary.

If you happen to read this, leave back any of your experiences that you would like to remember or read about later in the years to come. I would love to read them too. For now I am chatting with my friends in the media giving bytes on the splendid music launch. I am looking forward to judge Boogie Woogie’s children’s special show. Will be great fun.

Till then majani life,

Writing is a powerful expression

It’s not always that spoken words are enough to stimulate the brain and our emotions. There are times when we feel that there is a need to express ourselves in mediums other than spoken words. For me writing is that other medium to give my self a break from the monotony of life. I have started this blog to write about myself and take a break from others and be with myself. Few years down the lane I would like to reconnect with myself and read about the milestones of my life.

As for now I am sitting next to my window watching the rain gods go crazy. I can feel the chill as the tiny rain droplets are making their way through the window and embracing me. Though I am enjoying this soothing atmosphere, my work seems to dominate my mind. It is entangled with thoughts of my movie release. I guess for an actor the excitement always revolves around two things, the films release and the acceptance by the audience.

Hum Phirr Milein Na Milein is expected to release sometime in the first week of august. And the entire thought of another film on release, the final delivery of the baby excites me. Though it’s my second movie, like I said for an actor be it the first movie or the tenth the excitement always revolves around the release.

Now suddenly I start humming this song “kya se kya ho gaya bevafaa tere pyaar mein….” I start thinking about how my life started off on a normal note.. being an obedient and responsible son, my MBA, all the cooperate jobs I had done, sitting in the age old 8hr 9-5 jobs. How I planned my life, my career, my dreams and what not. But then life had other plans for me.

I left a secured white collar well paid job to come to a world of unreasonable and unsecured dreams. I am glad that I took that decision as the journey was exciting and I am doing something I love to do now.

I am counting days, while work is keeping me busy. Have a couple of new scripts to read today. I hate reading scripts yaar. I wish somebody just tapes them for me and I can listen to them.

Well Abhi to bhook lag rahi hai.. I’ll write more about how the entire transition happened from MBA boy to Filmy Boy and how it has transformed my life completely when I take my next break.

Till then Majaani life
